1999 Trans-am Positrac Diff 'paddle' question

I have a 99 Trans am, 6 sp with a positrac diff. The locking pin between the spider gears is shaped like a rectangle with two holes on one end, and a hole for the bolt on the other side. I pulled it out, replaced both wheel bearing, went to put it back together, and can't remember which way this paddle goes. It seems like it would go either way, but the holes are misaligned for that. I've tried to find anything I can. If any of you can help point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

The threads go at the bottom and the open area on top. Once the unit is together the bolt had to go down freely to reach the threads. I hope this is what you are looking for.
