12 bolt what gears are recommened

I have 02 ss with a strange 12 bolt 3.73. Recently blew the spider gears just wondering what gears people are running its mostly street driven, barely but drag raced alot to. Probably 60/40. I was thinking 4.10 4.11 maybe higher its a 6 speed ...its 12sec car thanks for the feedback

My buddy has 3:73's in his car going 11.50's in the 120-122ish range. that car is awfully close to being on the limiter going through the traps in 4th. Id stick with 3:73's if your anywhere close to your rev limiter at the end of the track, if not go 4:10's.

It seems like M6 guys go with 4.10s and a4 guys go with 3.73s. But I think that is more street use. Hope I helped but I doubt it.

if its just spider gears, why dont you only replace the spider gears (very easy fix doing it your self, no backlash settings etc. worry about) ? I run moser 12bolt, M6 w/ 4.10's and would not change it. Love the seat of the pants feel and the torque, and it is nice to be able to use 6th gear at 60mph!

I have 4.30's in my 9". Absolutely love the gears. Right at the sweet spot at the track (at the line I am at 6600 rpm in 4th with a 26.5" tall tire (my rev limiter is at 6900rpm)) and are awesome on the street.

I am at 410 RWHP, I run 12.75 110mph at the track (Live in Denver so we run about 1.5 second slower than those of you at sea level)

On the hiway, I am at around 1950 RPM in 6th @ 75mph and still maintain around 23-25 MPG combined driveing when I can keep my foot out of it.

I had 3.90's in my old 10 bolt and felt it was a huge waste of money and time. I am so glad I steped up to the plate and went with the 4.30's I would highly recomend them!!!!

What HP do you have? If you are running anykind of cam at all, It is so easy to change your riv limiter in your tune anyway. Don't let that determine if you get the gears or not, there is all kinds of ways to change your rev limiter.

If you do not have a cam or a tune, You still will not hit your rev limit in fourth due to not haveing the HP and torque to reach your limit by the end of the 1/4 mile.

For me 4.11s are great. I have not gotten the chance to go to the 1/4 mile, but I have made a few passes at the 1/8th (the short track is just a few miles from my place compared to over an hour for the 1/4). With my normal height street tires I was just crossing the line at the top of 3rd at almost 91 MPH. With the drag radials I plan on getting I should be just fine, even when I do get more power, since the new tires will be a bit taller then my street tires.

I would stay with the 3.73's.
