9" FTW, some will say if you have a a4 the 12 bolt is fine but if your going to change it do it right the first time and you will not have to think about it again IMO

9" without question. Buy it from Quick Performance Raceing. A store on E-Bay. Best prices anywhere and outstanding customer service.

I don't mean to steal the thread but i'm looking for a rear end too. How is the S60. From what I have researched its just as good as the 9" and a slight cheaper. Is this correct?

I think I falls right in the middle of the 12bolt and the 9" in terms of strength, weight and power loss 'cos of drag ... I could be wrong, this is from my own experience with installing and working on all 3 types. Although the Dana would need a shorter driveshaft (the 9" only needs the u-join changed), so that's an additional expense. I guess price would be dependent on the options of each setup, but yeah, it is kind of a deal.

I like my 9" but if it is a moser(mine is), check the gears and have them reset before the install. I didn't and they scream at me all day. Now I need to get a new ring and pinion and have them set correctly.

Mine is almost as quiet as stock. I got a Strange Pro Nodular and the guys at Quick Performance KNOW HOW to set up gears. However with any aftermarket rear end and gears, it won't be completely quiet like stock. You want to play you'll have to pay.

I agree and have learned that lesson. Had i been a little more informed I would have had them reset the gears instead of going with mosers set up.

I always say for an auto, 12 bolt. Six speed, 9 inch.

I talked to them the other day< they told me on the phone they set them up at 12 thousands.....I would check them before you install and get the wear pattern in the gears. Otherwise you'll be gettin new ring and pinion like I am. Doesn't hurt to check before. My bud told me they should be between 8 & 10 thousands.

He is also doing some other items, but just for the 9", fluids and install was $500.
