    1998 Camaro SS

    is 10 bolt ok to take to track

    i will be installin cam, intake, heads, headers,nitrous, etc on 98 ss m6. will it be ok to take to the track. this will be my first time to the track and i just want to try it out. i dont have slicks or drag radials on my car. i have 275/40 17 kumho ecstas on it. i i also dont plan on launching from high rpm. i just want to make a few track runs with it.

    You should be fine.

    High RPM's and traction are what kill the 10 bolt. So as long as you launch at a reasonable RPM and you don't have drag radials, you shouldn't have a problem.

    For what its worth, I run QTP 27x11.5x15's on my 02 w/ the stock rearend and have yet to break anything. My friend runs 26x11.5x15's on his 99 leaving on a 175 shot. But anyways, you should be perfectly fine. Just be carefull on the clutch-drops, that seems to be what breaks them the most on m6's.
