    $150 for clutch install.

I was gonna install my new ls7 clutch kit and slave by myself this weekend, but I know a mechanic who said he'll do the install for $150 bucks!!! I think this a a really good deal, and I know the guy doing the install is a damn good mechanic, so I feel pretty good about it. Just wondering what anyone else was charged (for labor), and if this is really that good of a deal. I just don't have the time or the facilities to do the install myself.

I know that haha. I did a clutch in my truck and took out the tranny with the transfer case on!!! That was friggen heavy, and I didn't expect it until all the weight was on me.

Labor time is 3.4hrs for just the clutch, then if you want to do the flywheel its an extra .3, so 150 is a damn good deal assuming its done right the first time

Yeah, the labor on my clutch swap was roughly $500 (clutch install, change slave cylinder, etc.). I would concur that $150 is a GREAT deal!

$150 is the going rate to remove the trans and reinstall it. that has nothing to do with the clutch so i would say very good deal. especially on a car that has no extra room to work with. i would let the guy do it and not have to deal with the headache of doing yourself

It ended up being like $300 in the end, but he did call me before the install to tell me that it would be more, so at least I didn't get dicked lol. Still at least $200 cheaper than most are saying they got theirs installed for.
