So I have a 2003 Z71 Suburban with about 212,000 miles on it. Recently the service airbag light came on. I took it to a buddys shop and he put his scanner on it and I literally took 5 pages of pictures of every single fault you can think of lost communication with ECM lost communication with PCM this circuit open that circuit open. Class 2 data link to high, incorrect front end sensors installed, occupant sensor malfunctions all this weird stuff he'd never seen anything like it. I had a couple people tell me the battery posts and cables can get corrosion but I've never seen anything like this those cables terminals everything is clean it is a spotless truck it's been well maintained its entire life and I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on. It was even throwing encoder motor faults all kind of stuff so help me out guys. Thanks.

99% of the time the airbag light comes in for these trucks, it's one of the front end sensors. Or both. Ignore that other stuff for the moment and focus on the front end sensor codes.

Yes probably. One or both. Depends on what trouble codes you have.

B codes are airbag system codes. And you have a lot of them. I don't know what they are off the top of my head.

Sure do. Any and all B codes too lol. Will a tech 2 show me which one is faulty?

If the Tech2 shows some of those codes as "current" faults and some as "history" faults, then focus on the current ones. Otherwise you could clear the codes and see which ones come back.

Got it. Thanks again. I'll have to run it to my friends house to have him scan it.

So after using the tech 2 there are no codes in the system. All class 2 communication between the bcm and the airbags is fine. Since the PRNDL went out too, everyone is leaning towards a bad cluster.
