Cyclone Grey Metallic- 2005 GTO
Starting problems
This would be about my dad's truck. 2000 1500 5.3, 70k miles
Recently we've been having some intermitent starting problems with it. it will start, but stumble a bit. If you give it a little gas, everything is fine. It will die if you don't catch it and then crank for a little before it starts again.
To try and fix the problem he changed out plugs/wires. When he got out the old plugs they were white, indicating a lean problem.
So I'm thinking this is a fuel issue. Could it be a simple fuel filter? Pump? injectors?
It runs just fine after the start, no apparent power or fuel mileage loss. And there are times when it starts up just fine. Just every now and then it will stumble on start up. Any ideas?

I would change the fuel filter and do a "through the rail" 3M injector and throttle body cleaning, no gas tank additives unless you think you have water in the fuel or need treatment. Also if you have a K&N, check to make sure the MAF isn't dirty. JMHO
