Redone Suspension on My '00 2wd
I finally got around to replacing the old RCD lift kit with some better suspension on my silverado, thought I'd share some pics. *Next up is painting the fenders, bigger tires, and then some better leaf springs & shocks out back...aaand get rid of the ses light! haha Input always appreciated, thanks!

Light Pewter Metallic- 2001 Camaro SS
Nice! That looks like it could take some abuse! Any pics of what it looks like from the side?

Thanks! I hope she stays together, we have some pretty nasty roads here in so cal haha. Just from driving to work this week, I've noticed much more precise steering. (less mushy for lack of better words)
Here are some more pics:

Nice ride! Reminds me of a Baja race truck.
Looks like it's a beast!

Looks good, and only 2 more driven wheels away from being badass

haha
I really like it. That stance is wicked and like Steven said, it reminds me of a Baja truck. Any thoughts on putting in an IRS and widening the rear like the front? Very very costly, but I think the outcome would be awesome!!
Regardless, I like it!!

Thanks for the compliments. I have thought about it before and came to the conclusion it was gonna take more money than I'd want to spend. I will most likely go with a fabricated 9in or a 14-bolt setup, widened by a few inches.
I have a question for you guys:
Are there any options for cars that offer a suspension setup of similar construction to this? Of course the car setup would be much lighter, and built to oem dimensions (no width added). I guess the idea I'm after is tubular construction oe replacment arms that bolt on and ride on all spherical bearings and heim joints for pivots. Shoot, even the steering could be done on heims as well.
*edit- asking because these kinds of pivots are all teflon lined, self lubricating, and pretty cheap compared to some balljointsLast edited by prerunfw; 05-24-2012 at 07:07 PM.

Bump for some updates. Put together a new axle since the old 10-bolt had seen better days. 4.56 on the 8.5/8.6 ring gear was kinda asking a lot imo. Calipers/rotors are off the rear of 2000-up tahoe or suburban (which you can swap directly onto your disc brake 10-bolt btw). The safety wire isn't perfect, just practicing. Parking brake will be done soon at the driveshaft via mechanical caliper.
14 bolt 6-lug full floater, no typo haha:

Correct^
Conversion hubs by Solid/Spyntec Industries, reasonably priced I might add. Axle flanges and socket head bolts both had to get machined down a little to fit through the half-ton wheels. Rotors' centers opened up a bit.
Definitely gonna owe a lathe-owning buddy some beer if you do one of these haha.
