    parking brake

What would cause my parking brake light to flash and beep when the e brake pedal is not engaged??? I checked brake fluid level and it was at correct level, also pulled up on e brake pedal and it still continues to flash. The brakes feel fine. Its a 1999 chevy silverado 4 wheel drive

Is the ABS light on as well?

Could be something as simple as the parking brake pedal sensor, or brake fluid level sensor.

Read your owners manual.. lol sometimes it will tell you why it could be flashing and beeping.

Ok the reason the parking brake light was flashing and beeping when the parking brake was not depressed is because the truck had a wheel cylinder leaking which caused uneven hydraulic pressure in the brake system. Which means one side of the brake system is working harder than the other side.

the parking brake light is also a warning light for the whole brake system.

Makes sense... I guess I should have asked if it was 4 wheel disc, or rear drums. I'm glad you found out what the issue is!!!
