Headers for a 4.8L
Anyone run headers on thier truck? I'm thinking about ebaying a set of bolt on shorties, I'm sure the smart route will be to go LT's but I'm not looking to have a new exhaust setup made. I installed a cherrybomb exhaust kit last year and would like to keep it so a set of bolt on shorties would be ideal.

I had an 02 Silverado 5.3 with shorty headers. I would not recommend it. I had the headers connected to a true dual set up and was not pleased. I lost a TON of low end power. High end revs were pretty good, but how often do you put your truck into the 5k+ range.

Really!....Very tempting. This will sure as hell wake up the truck but I'll need to get a tune put on it. The only reason why I'm not 100% with LT's is because I'm debating throwing a turbo on this truck once it's paid off. But more than likely I might just go with headers and keep it simple. I would like to know how that goes I have been wanting to do that for a while now. I have true duals and actually want to get rid of them too much stuff in the way now holds dirt mud and salt.

It might be awhile seeing as 4th of July fireworks are costing me a decent amount this year. Worth every cent.
