gear change
how has gear change worked for you guys in the chevy trucks?
i have a 88 ram with a 440 and it has 3.21 ratio and a installin a 3.90 ratio to keep it somewhat streetable and to gain acceleration
what comes stock in your trucks and what do you guys change to, my tranny is only the 3 speed w/o overdrive so i dont want to go to low otherwise i would have gotten 4.56

I went from 3.42's to 4.10's and love it. The 3200 stall allows a quick ramp up. With the gears alone i picked up close to 1 second in the quarter.

wow a second well my truck now runs 16.3 on a 85 degree day and am dyin to beat a hemi truck my buddy has that runs 15.2 should be close with gear change
another thing is that my 60 foot is 2.3 and his was 2.2 so i should def. eat him up off the line with gears and after heads and cam waste him
the motor is a stock 440 from 78 so it does have turd flow heads (thinkin about edelbrock) and a cam with 4.25 lift thats def gotta go after winter maybe a strong 4.80 lift
do you think i should go with a little 2000 stall im mean that motor produces alot of torque down low and doesnt rev very high
