    Friend's GMC Truck?

My friend has a 02-03 GMC Sierra with a 4.8 litre in it. It's pretty much a stock truck, except for exhaust and cold air intake. He is going to put this cam into it http://www.thunderracing.com/dynogra...n=read&pgid=94

He's going to get a tune after it is installed.
He wants to know if he'll need to add a stall, or head work, or whatever else to it after the install??..
Any help would be much appreciated..

normally with a cam a stall and headers are needed or recomended. i would put them on, they help a bunch. with the stall it would be easier to hold with a raised idle. i havent had my car tuned yet for the cam so i dont know if it raises the idle or not but they might.

I know he wants to do all that, but he would be better off buying a 5.3 or a 6.0. Both can be had around 500-1000 with low miles. Both are better for boost and mods as well as abuse. That 4.8 isn't exactly the greatest motor made.....

Thanks for the reply. I know a 5.3 or 6.0 would be better, but he's sticking with the 4.8.
He is ordering the cam and stall on friday so we'll se how it goes.. lol
We went to the track over the weekend so we could see how it ran before and after the cam and it ran like a 15.87 and 15.89, so we'll se how it runs after everything is installed..
