    Anyone ever see or use one of these?

    I don't really buy stuff for mpg's but thought it was a cool idea.

    wonder what the real world gas savings are...... 60% seems like an excessive claim to me.

    The idea is great... however I think this modification will be fail.

    The new eco Malibus are electronically assisted. They went from 32 to 37 hwy MPG. Hardly 60% and this was done from the factory.

    Was this made by the same people who make the tornado?

    Ok maybe not, but the claims are outrageous

    This. IF you could install a relativly simple component system like this in a production vehicle and reduce fuel consumption by 60%, almost every car would have it by now, even considering the locating and packaging of the small battery pack.

    ^^^yes. If it were that easy, it'd be on all new cars. Vehicles use most power in stop/go driving, that's why hybrids excel in city MPG. Regen braking captures the energy normally lost as heat, the electric motor gets the car moving from a stop then the ICE kicks in. At highway speeds, the ICE is on and the electric motor does little or nothing, except to help a bit when the driver floors the go predal. ICE is Internal Combustion Engine. To Prius owners, those are dirty words lol.

    Regenerative breaking is kind of a misleading word. It puts resistance on the electric motor to build a charge and put it back into the batteries. Besides the sensation of slowing down (equivalent to putting vehicle in low gear) it actually has nothing to do with braking.

    Interesting. Can you tell when it "kicks in" ?

    Or is it quiet and smooth when in use?

    I ask because I can tell when the VVT becomes active in my 3700 I5.

    The exhaust actuator comes in @ the edge of mid-range it definetly registers on the butt dyno..lol

    VVT = VTAKKKKKKKKKKK

    Because it shuts down cylinders and gives you less performance.

    Mine is a factory unit and you do not even know it's working. Smooth as silk.
