    Airbag warning...question??

Son has 2008 Silverado 4x4 and the airbag warning light is on.
I scanned it since there was a check engine light on also.
Wondered if related, but the engine light showed a downstream O2 sensor.
So I recalled another vehicle I had that needed a connector to a sensor replaced for the airbags.
When I was trying to figure that out you would count the flashes of the airbag warning light when first turning the key.
Son's truck has written message on gauge display that comes on and stays solid.
Any way to figure out what the error would be or anything to help narrow the diagnosis down at all?
Appreciate any help that might be possible.
    THANKS

The airbag system will have to be scanned. Since you have the other thread with the turn signal problem you should go over all of the grounds. Do you know if the truck was a flood vehicle, or maybe just some harsh winters?

I have searched a lot since posting both, but haven't actually done much with either yet.
My son bought a junction block for the taillights and is hoping that will help since he says that he found that to be a common issue. Rear tire throws everything right at it. He found one on Amazon real cheap so that is the next attempt.
I found a lot of threads showing sensors under the bumper for the airbags corroded and swelled all up causing troubles.
I haven't gotten underneath to see if his look like that, but that is next step for that trouble.
We got some rust to touch up, a door hinge pin to work on, and O2 sensors setting off check engine light.
Being in Michigan and him being in school during the week makes it difficult to get much time devoted to it.
Hoping for better weather soon so each of those can get some attention.
No flood for the truck, but has been in Michigan on the SALTY SALTY roads every winter.
Terrible the damage that chloride does.
    Appreciate the tips.
Will post when it gets dug into.
Especially if anything turns out good.
    THANKS very much !!
