    2007 5.3 V8 D.O.D. issues?

Anyone have problems with the cylinder shutoff part of this motor, my 15,000 mile 07' just started misfiring badly and set the engine light flashing. Had it flatbedded to the dealer and they said the lifters collapsed and they had to tear the whole top-end off? The service desk asked what gas I use and I said no cheap off name brands, but BP, Mobil, or Shell and she said to never use Mobil gas because it will carbon up the internals???

Should have said, "That's nice when was I going to be notified of this?"

Yea that displacment on demand stuff had me a little worried when it came out. Thats one of the parts I figured would fail.
Was it one of the lifters that is supposed to collaps when that system kicks in?

Yes, I believe the special lifters are the part that will "shutdown" the 4 cylinders and I have no clue why at 15,000 miles this happened.
