02 tahoe z71
hey guys.. im back again with more questions! i just bought a 02 tahoe z71, i wanna change the look a bit on the truck,
the hood needs paint, so i found a hood from a 02 silverado 2500, the hood is a bit taller, my question is will it fit my truck?
i think it would look good the tahoe,
another question is. i found some used tires and rims off road, the size are 325/70/18. will the fit a stock z71?
thanks!

Yes the hood will fit. I've seen the HD hood on a tahoe, and it looks subtle and nice, unlike most of the tacky aftermarket shit.
As far as the tires go, I'm pretty sure those wouldnt fit (I'm not sure that size even exists, it doesnt according to tirerack anyway). a 325/65-18 though is almost a 35 inch tire. lolLast edited by 5.0THIS; 06-06-2012 at 12:40 AM.

Maybe he meant 305? Because to the best of my knowledge, a 305 would be the absolute largest tire you can go on stock suspension... with some clever modifications that is.

that tahoe looks good!!
i saw the add on craigslist and it says its 325/70/18 never seen that size either lol.. he probably meant 305 tho, a similar tire size like that doesnt fit unless i use a 2" lift, thats not what i wanna do.
if i find some 24s for a good price ill go that rout

ok guys i picked up this tahoe few days ago, im triying to get bigger tires for it.. what size do you guys recommend? it has 265/70/17s right now but imo they look small, i had in mind 285/75/17 but they arent a big difference, here some pics..
cant really tell on the pics but in person they look way smaller.. they are almost new tho.

285's are the biggest you can go on stock suspension and ride height.

Heres mine, its an 04. I got the cowl hood cheap and its doesn't look to bad. I aslo run 285/50/20s in the summer and the stock size in the winter.

nice truck chris! i like that hood.. do you have any other pics with the 20 inch rims??
im looking to get some 285/70/17.. but i seen some 305/7017 they look badass... of course they dont fit
what do i need to make fit some 295s at least? i dont want a lift kit tho, i heard running some spacer on suspension is a bad idea, it will wear the suspension parts faster... is that true?

thanks steven! i changed the look a bit tho lol.. here some pics....
im gonna wait till i find a nice set of used tires... i dont wanna spend over $1000 when my tires are almost new...
i did some reaserch and some people say that if the tires are mismatch can mess up the transfer case.. is that true?
all tires have to have the same thread left? all 4 tires have to have the same thread design? or how does that work..

Yes the tires must be all the same size.
When going used make sure it's a matched set, as unevenly worn tires can cause problems, especially in low range or if you have lockers.
Make sure if you rotate your tires that you include your spare in the mix once in a while so not to end up having a spare larger than the other 4. tires.
