There's always deals out there. No worries. Are you looking to get a Camaro instead? Hell with all my frustration......I've just about posted the for sale sign on my Camaro.

It's good you have a budget in mind. My only suggestion would be to look for an '01 or '02. Merely for the fact it would have the LS6 intake and no egr. But if you find an older LS1 with that stuff already taken care of.....

    Isn't $7k a rather low price?

It's alot of money and really nice, I don't think I'd drive it all that much. But sweet as hell just having it.

    A) im going big, so fast90/90 willbe in there... and motor wont matter because im doing 9"/exhaust first... then heads/cam... then adding fast 90/90 at the same time... then later on dropping on 408 short block, keep the heads (trick flow225 works perfect with 408) and switch the cam... tada... done... what egr?

I guess you just need a body with an interior basically. That sounds like a good project though.

Honestly, I don't know if you will be able to get those kinds of numbers out of the rear wheels. Basically, you will be running the same kind of car that DJ's and Curtis'. Personally, I would think that it will be closer to the 530 range. To many variables to make a really accurate guess now though. It will go down the track in a hurry in any case.

I've enjoyed the transition to the "computer" car. I'm old school and grew up with carb'd motors and no computer stuff. But let's face it, the 4th gen's and LS motor cars of today get alot more hp and use less fuel to do it. Much improved in my opinion.

I come from a similar background though I might be a bit younger in it. Luckily I was able to get into computer cars back with TPI and then moved into an LT1 ever since I have been a convert, especially for street cars.

Between how efficient modern motors are and a six speed I can still have alot of fun in a car that is drivable, powerful, and still be able to afford gas
