It has gotten two coats so far.
Have to wait right now to roll it over.

Using low gloss black engine paint. I am doing this cheaply since it doesn't see rain/snow.

It isn't that hard to paint.

Much cheaper than having them do it.

You might want to check into having someplace powdercoat it. Not sure how much they will charge, but it is worth checking out.

Powdercoating would be about 300-400 bucks . I've done them, but on a steel rear. Aren't you getting the aluminum housing? If so why paint?

Just for durability sake. I need to check with one of my sources in Louisiana to see if I can get it done really cheap. EPP only wants 200 extra for theirs. Chances are I will just do it myself (just need to find out which paint will work the best).

Yes, it should be an alum. housing. Not just center section? Axle tubes and all. there may be someone producing aluminum pumkins but I doubt it. The weight savings is incredible.

Of course all of your internals will weigh the same but the housing is the majority of the weight.

Just need to find someplace that makes cheap titanium 9" internals. The weight savings on moving parts would make that an efficient rear end most likely. Wonder if we can get it done for a few hundred bucks
