I feel similar, though I do like having a nice looking ride if I can, but function wins over form for me. It is still nice to have a beefy set of brakes to keep you from harm, but the stockers on our cars are almost as good as the set of Baer brakes I used to run on my 94.

I want it to look good...but cracked rotors aren't my idea of great appearance.

You have seen the wheel studs sticking out...
    Function over form.

    And yes...I am a cheapass.

Just my two cents, but on my 98 & 99 G.M. put out some of the shittiest rotors for our cars. One good slow down from 100 to 60 in a fairly fast manner and they are warped.

You would indeed think the contact area would make more sense, but in reality the trade of surface area for ventilation pays huge dividends in pad longevity and performance. I haven't done it on my 02' but it is indeed a cheap and logical mod. Those of you who run pretty fast understand that you have very little room usually for decel and that takes the life out of factory rotors and pads. Crossdrilled & slotted rotors are great for a dd, doesn't have to be auto x.

When I was at RPM yesterday they were tuning a H/C WS6 and it had TD with Sweet Thunders. Not only did I think it was loud but so did everyone in the shop. So I would recommend against them for anyone wanting a DD type of exhaust

Happy, shitty weather Friday all. Even you " MY Little Pony". You've impressed me with some of your suspension wisdom. If Aud can guide you away form bimmers and pustangs you might actually grow up to be somebody one day. LOL! JJ.

If you run a quality rotor you should not have problems. The slots and crossdrilled originated from older style brake pads that needed to vent gases under hard braking. Every brake major brake source that I have talked to agree that a flat rotor will perform the best and that slots and holes are more for appearance now then anything (even though they would have made more money from me as well).

Off for a while. Somebody make sure Beast reports if he is ready for installing the new rear tomorrow.

And with that I will leave you with one of my favorite car related quotes:

    "Mustangs are like tampons"

Note the Hurst shifter and skinny's up front!! SWEEEEEETT!
I knew I could find a place for that knob.
