I know what I will be buying when I get my new job...a new radiator. Changed the hose clamp today and ran a few errands. Still leaking. Took the radiator shroud off and found a hairline crack on the driver side tank. Oh well...it's minor.

Combination though more towards the earlier than the latter. He called me last night and took a half hour to set up an interview time

Doesn't sound like anyone you want to work for on a daily basis.

When I went to Firestone Monday night, it took about 30 mins to talk to the manager and fill out an app. I called him earlier today to see if he was still interested in interviewing me but he was busy as I heard air tools in the background(maybe he was in the shop and not in his office) and he wants to see me on Friday at 10am.

    Hmmm...let's see here:

    401k
    Full benefits
    Life insurance
    Paid vacations
    ASE training

Bergen Tire offered NONE of that, but I was taxed almost $200 outta my paycheck.

EDIT: Remember, I have no kids/dependants. I just pay my monthly bills/mortgage. So Firestone CAN'T be THAT bad.

that is called bait, don't bite. they also pay flag rate which means if you are hired at 10 an hour you might make 8 of it until you hit 40 hours then after you hit 40 hours you will make 10. They do that by the time on whatever your doing to the car. for example 1.2 hrs for alignments .8 for certain serp belts, .50 for brakes , .25 for oil changes ect. Unless you have a very firm grip on automotive repair and I mean anything and everything you won't make jack.

I certainly hope you didn't apply at the haledon one, that only has 5 bays, and if they have 5 employees your screwed hard because you cannot take a car apart, and put it back together to back it out and wait for answeres on repairs that is needed. It stays on your lift and sits until the manager gets ahold of the customer and an answer. Thats why I know how to do so much,I fought hard to make money in that place, but most of the time I brought home 250 because of how they run the buisness.when your stuck with a car on the lift and no other lift to work on your screwed.

Unless they hire you as a GM (general maitenance) I think that is hourly but the pay sucks compaired to tech.

Nope. Not Haledon. Hackensack next to Sears. I think it has 8 bays. I want more money for what I know.
And I want to retire and just be lazy.
