    Yeah Curtis was telling me they are more trouble than they are worth. The only downside with forging the 347 and maxing out my blower is that I'll be at a max of 700rwhp. No room left to grow.

    I could always get the 408 and find someone to buy my 346. I don't know if I really want to deal with that hassle though.

    damn... i just owned my self... i thought i smelled a "hot chick" in my office... oyu know... the smell of clean hair... so i'm looking all around and listening for unfamiliar voices... well... here it's my own damn hair... damn it...

    depending on your heads... all you need is a shortblock... and that way you spend about 4000 for a 408 iron block withthe good options... , then slap your heads and current intake on there... buy a better cam for that block... set

    I plan on replacing the stock heads either way. Need to lower compression and get better flow. The real downside with the 408 is that costs can start adding up fast. I guess it can with a forged 347 too.

    I guess I should put a price sheet together for each route and see what makes the most sense.

    If you're going to spend the cash to do a stroker motor, do at least a 408 if not bigger. Had I waited a year, an additional 2-3k could have gotten me one hell of an LSX 454 than what I paid for my 408.

    I think a 408 + D1SC will be plenty for my needs. If I ever get bored with that I can upgrade to a F1.

    that's what my friend did. Started with a rear mount turbo and is now doing an F1 on his 408.
