Was there ever an attempt on this site to start a match-making thread? For singles? or is the guy to girl ratio wayyyy too far un-even for an experiment such as this?

I'm assuming it failed, ... miserably then. 'cause I'd sell my soul to meet a chick that owned an LSx of some sort. I live smack-dab in the middle of pony country. I can stand in the parking lot of work, pick up a rock, throw it, and hit two dozen mustangs without the rock hitting the ground once. Don't get me wrong, they're fantastic lookin' girls drivin' them, .... but , not my cup of tea.

    A necessary use of a v-day.

Mornin' peeps. Sorry I missed ya'll yesterday, but I had a household emergency early yesterday. I got up around 0200 and I heard what sound like a spigot running. Check upstairs/downstairs...nada. A few hours later, I started filling the sink to shave and noticed that the hot water was only lukewarm...uh oh. I went outside (35) and checked under the crawl space. Yep, water heater went kaboom and was shooting water up through the top. Oh well, I got twenty years out of it. Unfortunately it's a low boy because there's only about four feet of clearance that reduces to about eighteen inches by the time you get under the front porch area. To complicate matters, The ductwork for the AC/Furnace runns AROUND the water heater.

To make a long, muddy story short, I was at Lowe's around 0730 and got a replacement. Took all day, but I finally got it in, soldered, and wired. Then I hooked up the ductwork again. Final cost was $328. BASIC installation from Lowe's would have been an additional $284, and I'm sure the ductwork problem would have raised that considerably. I guess that makes the vacation day I took yesterday a good choice.

I congratulated myself last night by pouring some beer in a nice, frosted, 24 oz. pilsner glass, getting in the whirlpool, and watching The Shooter on a portable DVD. I feel asleep in the tub.

Good news though, the new water heater is more energy efficient and that means savings through the years, AND I can take the cost off my taxes for this year since it is an energy savings home improvement. Woo-hoo!!! I love Turbo-Tax!!
