    BTW im not sure if this has been answered, but what if someone went to a junkyard and got a rear end out of a GM truck or somthing, surely they must have somthing better then a 10 bolt 7.5 inch rear.

    The bolt on part isn't what concerns me.

    It is the location.
    The 9" uses a bracket. If something breaks on the rearend, the entire rear won't be trashed.

    If you break the mount on the D60 or 12 bolt...the rear is done. At least from what I have heard.

    I see that 9inch bracket breaking long before that part of a 12 bolt or Dana housing breaking though

    But it is replaceable if it does go.


    Probably doesn't matter either way for most cars.
    My 9" is in the process of being removed from the car. Clean-up and fresh fluid.
