OMG, had a cross country quad race today. 13 mile course cut down to 4 miles because all the rain just made most of the course impassible. Wouldn't be surprised if a few of them are still out there stuck =) Salvaged a bad race and got a 4th, not what I wanted for the last race of the year, but I'll take it. Now just to go spend 50 bucks at the car wash to clean it all up.

There is a company that tore down the whole car and made a carbon fiber wide body on one......The doors only weigh 15lbs with the glass!

    cross country = harescramble?

Either way, ain't no money in that 4wheeler racin' business. Friend of mine runs the WNYOA harescrambles around here. He does real good, but he spends more fuckin' money on 4wheelers and parts than I make in a year. He's got THREE wheelers, a Predator for backup, and 2 YFZ450s. One for parts, one brand new. Rebuilt the motor TWICE last season. Fuck that.

I rebuilt the motor once this season after I overheated bad. And yes, it is harescramble. Same thing. I spent 16 grand on the sport last year, went balls to wall at it, realized I have no chance at being the #1 pro guy, so now it's just a hobby for fun.

Really...the manufacture recommends you rebuild your engine every 24 hours, when you go take a stock engine and throw in a 14:1 piston, raise the rev limiter 2k rpm, etc, you have to rebuild more often. The only way they get what they do out of 4 strokes is make them so insanley high strung.

As for no money in it...the best of the best racers are millionaires.

Yeah, to begin with I know what you mean. Just like any form of racing though, its all a rich mans sport/hobby. Look at all the IRL drivers jumpin' ship and going to NASCAR. It's the only racing where anyone makes money.

TAP, I am looking too. You might have to email that forum about the Graphite project. Plus, once you get the kit, you are gonna have to get some wider wheels and may have to get longer wheel studs as well.

I don't care that thing looks fucking hot! Also my pig could use a diet I think the sled weighs about 4400lbs

BTW I tried to get a race with a GTO today..... bastard wouldn't play! I really wanna see how this thing bone stock measures up to an equally heavy pig. The GTO has more HP but I have AWD and never lose traction. Launch I SHOULD beat it out and have a chance to get full boost

It would be a good race!

Yah, but had there been some sort of boost under the hood of the goat, it would have been real interesting. Why don't you start by looking for a carbon fiber hood and trunk. Worth a start.

Like I said, he's a total pack rat when it comes to anything automotive. We moved 11 engines today and if I add bare blocks to the mix we have 9 to go yet.

Reminds me of something I tried at a horse show this summer -- a "walking taco". Open a small bag of Fritos, add seasoned meat, diced tomatoes, cheese, sour cream and hot sauce right in the bag and eat it with a plastic fork. Very good.
