It is actually some of the tougher work to do. My favorite was a bodyshop that actually used discarded road signs as patch metal in an Isuzu -- the pictures were quite funny of the workmanship. Realistically, the signs were heavier gauge than the stock stuff, so that wasn't the bad part. It was just a way crappy job.
Old license plates make decent patches as well

lol that's awesome. i just seem to pick up on liars pretty easily ... its like if i ask you if the cv boot is split and you tell me it is, then say it's not and you're just confused on what i asked, then kind of jump around my questions then i'll just have an inspector answer them for me. HA

I am accustomed to getting about 50% of the truth from most people I talk to during the course of my workday. Just goes with the territory... Always fun though when you get to catch one in a blatant lie.

Just as bad in this business..... My rt headlamp got damaged when I was hit in the rt rear door.....

It's always amusing when I have to ask... did you hit something else during the course of the accident? Customer "No" Me "then how did the headlamp get damaged?"

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. No -- I thought your comment was pretty funny, I was just busting back at you in the spirit of LS1.com. Trust me, after 17 years of doing what I do, I have very thick skin.

A friend just sent me this one:

One day a father gets out of work and on his way home he suddenly remembers that it's his daughter's birthday. He pulls over to a toy shop and asks the salesperson, 'How much for one of those Barbies in the display window?' The salesperson answers, 'Which one do you mean, Sir? We have Work Out Barbie for $19.95, Shopping Barbie for $21.95, Beach Barbie for $18.95, Disco Barbie for $19.95, Ballerina Barbie for $20.95, Astronaut Barbie for $21.95, Skater Barbie for $17.95, and Divorced Barbie for $265.95.

The amazed father asks: 'It's what?! Why is the Divorced Barbie $265.95 and the others all less than $21.95? The annoyed salesperson rolls her eyes, sighs, and answers, 'Sir..., Divorced Barbie comes with Ken's Car, Ken's House, Ken's Boat, Ken's Furniture, Ken's Computer, one of Ken's Friends, and a key chain made with Ken's balls.'
