So it's probably stretching the studs when you install the lugs. How tight are you torquing them?

And are you sure when you cut the caps off the threads are good and not damaging the studs as you put them on? Why can't you use just a regular acorn lug? Where did you get those lugs from?

Racestar, same maker of the wheels. Also I run a spare stud thru to make sure the threads are good after I cut the caps off.

I guess I got nothing then haha. I think looking at the lugs is on the right track but no idea what's going on. Could just be the different metals causing a galvanic reaction??

I've seen some ppl use anti-sieze but not sure about that.
I'll look for some type of other lug and see if it will go in the racestar wells.
I just may be tightening them too much but don't see how with a 4 way.

I use a torque wrench on mine but I agree.....be kinda odd to get them too tight with a 4 way. You'd have to be standing on it and then some. Do the studs show any sign of an issue? White looking shit on them? Ever had a set of wheels react to a hub? Real bitch to get off sometimes. If you have a reaction going between the lugs and studs those bitches will almost weld themselves to it. I always think of Prius hubs when I think of that. Famous for it and damn near impossible to separate.

I'm going to have to look and see.
One odd thing I did notice was like the studs or lugs had became magnetized. There were shavings from the lugs on the stud, I blew them off and the lugs came off and on freely, so I'm still

Got up this morning and it was -5 and the fucking furnace decided to quit working. Think maybe ignitor took a shit. I have a call into a repairman because I can't wait to get one shipped to me in this weather. I fired the camper hest up just in case we need to use it. 51 and falling in the house right now. Garage is 70 degrees after I turned heat on out there. Guess we could live in garage haha

No heat sucks balls. We had our furnace conk out just before a cold snap 2 years ago and it acted up again this year when I fired it up in the fall. First fix was a rebuild with a new igniter and the most recent issue was a water logged expansion tank. We installed a Generac in October as our power tends to be flaky and also due to the increase in the intensity of storms over the past few years causing longer duration outages. Hope to also install a gas fireplace at some point. Secondary heat source FTW.
