Nuthin much. Made some pepperoni burgers. Yummy. Adjusted my parking brake at work and tried to replicate the diff whine in my car but no dice. Had the car on the lift and went thru all 6 gears and nothing. Diff only whines when on the ground rolling in gear.

Well, that's the thing. It only whines when I am on the ground, not while the car is in the air off the wheels. Mind boggling.

Probably has to have a load to mesh a certain way, gears have slack right. My 12 bolt wails when I let off the gas, or atleast that's the only time I can hear it over the motor. I'll find out with the quieter magnaflows

That is way cool! What attachments came with it? I was too lazy to read the listing.

Well, it just started two weeks ago after driving in the snowstorm. Might be a small problem. I have heard the diff I currently have(06) is better than the factory 04 diff. I will know later in the week.

not uncommon, the rearend has to be under load. my guess would be a bad pinion bearing.

5 foot mower deck and a 4foot backblade, tire chains, 4 50lb suitcase weights for the front and a payment.

It should be a good tractor. 16hp 3cyl diesel, pto, front pto w/ electric clutch (mower deck). The deck is all new, completely rebuilt with all new bearings, pulleys, wheels, everything, even the electric clutch and all idler pulleys were replaced. When I got it I thought it needed 2 tierods, but come to find out they were only loose where the cotter key nut tightened against the pitman arm and spindle, and the balls/cups were still tight as new. So far, above my initial investment, I've got about 15 bucks into it. I replaced the 2 fender lights tonight, and I repaired a broken stud under the seat causing it to be a bit floppy. One of these nights I'll pull it in and change the motor oil. Hydraulic fluids were done in 08.

I have to replace the drivebelt on our Troy-Bilt this year. Not looking forward to that as the first time I replaced it the pulley would not come off the output shaft. I ended up removing the engine to change the belt.

This thing's got a wicked belt on the deck, I will probably pull the deck later this spring and sharpen the blades and make sure I get all the grease zerks well lubed, I'll definitely look into just getting a spare belt to have, its easier to decipher what size it is now than it will be when its shredded to all hell. This tractor is in awesome shape for the year of it. Its roughly an '89 model, still original paint. No leaks, no oil seepage anywhere. Original tires. The rears are loaded with calcium sans tubes, so that has me a bit nervous, but the rims aren't very rusty at all. There is no doubt this tractor was garaged since new. The paint isn't even faded, let alone worn off thefloorboards. Theguy I bought it from pretty much just used it, so essentially I got it in the shape he did. The receipt from Napa for the hydraulic filter was dated feb. of 08, and that was before this guy had it, so he didn't have it long.

Nice! Back then they still made real tractors. Not like the recycled beer can I have. We grew up with an old Wheel Horse that my father rescued and rebuilt. Loved that tractor growing up and we still have it to plow snow with.

Yeah man, thats a lot of what made up my mind, but when I saw how good of shape it was in, I knew it was the one. It was affordable, and reasonably close to what I wanted. In a perfect world, I could get a loader for it, but thats neither here nor now. Maybe someday, but probably not. Repack front wheelbearings is also on my list of things to do. This tractor alone weighs 1280lbs, mowerdeck, calcium, backblade and weights, gotta be poking the 1800 range, its heavy. Good thing I've got diff lock!
