Jetstream Metallic Blue- 1978 Trans Am LS1
Jeff & Zap,
Great meeting you guys last night! Sorry our conversation got interrupted..the guy that came up is my ol First Sergeant that I served with in Iraq. I did leave a bit early because my wife and I are into eating healthy (er), and she was getting hungry. I did cheat and take advantage of the free hot dogs, but i did run 7 miles this morning...so Im good!
Zap, thanks for the info on the exhaust system...I think I am going to put that on my list on future mods. I really like what your father did with the rear deck on his (nice car!). What are your plans with your firebird? LS?i know a guy selling a poncho 400 with 4 spd. Im meeting him tonight at the walmart car show in horseheads. He wants to a LS swap in his 76 TA. I'll pm you the info on my car...and since you are in nearby, you can stop by or ask questions...I'll try to answer them the best I can. I live 2 miles off exit 1, rt 15 ( ~6 miles from chilsonwilcox).

It was good meeting you too, Leon. Lovin' the color on your car. Mind if there's a twin running around? I'm going to stick with the stock 350/4spd for now. Who knows what will happen in the future, at this point, cash dictates what happens. I may stop up to Walmart tonight myself, I need a few things and it'd be cool to look over your car again and get some ideas and chat some more.

Leon:
Great to finally meet you. That is one nice ride that you have -- very clean LS1 transplant, tasteful interior, and smooth body and paint. We're in Mansfield around 2 miles off Route 15. If you are ever coming through and want to stop in, feel free to do so. I usually have one or more projects in progress in the garage.

Oh yeah, Jeff... the food was real good last night. I wouldn't go to the extreme and say it's the best steak of a lifetime, though. I should try to remember that me and my dad have completely spectral-opposite tastes when it comes to how food needs to be prepared .

That LS1 Firebird is a nice looking ride.
Woodhouse Tavern had some nice looking ladies again last night. The one girls asked me twice what my name was. Lets hope that she has a moment of weakness and an evening full of alcohol and bad decisions........

Went up and talked with Leon again tonight. Also met his friend Ryan with a 76 Trans Am he plans to do an LS swap into. Very sweet ride as well. I believe he was from down Binghamton way.

I think I have done everything I can now in the driveline and suspension except for springs and shocks. Next mod will have to be something to up the horsepower.

Been years since I have been there.
Got out the big boy tools today to repair the lawn mower. Last time Sammie mowed, the left front axle collapsed and the wheel was tipped in at a 45 degree angle. I stuffed a pry bar down through the pivot points and bent it back into shape. Welded everything back up and then bent a piece of flat stock into a "U" and welded that around the front, bottom and back of the axle. Fixed.
