So on another note.... I'm playing the crap out of Forza 3 and decided to do Hot laps of every car in the game. I did this on GT4 using the Nurburgring and it took me, on and off, 4 years or so to complete. Considering there are 300 fewer cars in Forza 3 this shouldn't take nearly as long. Also I'm using Suzuka as my track of choice this time around. I think it will only take me a month or two to get it done this way.

So here's the part that sucks but I kind of understand it. In GT4 I had a hard time matching the real world performance of the cars I was driving. Of course I was driving the green hell and one mistake could cost me a whole 13 mile lap so I wouldn't usually go about fixing it.

This time I'm using a much shorter course on what is billed as a much more realistic simulation, yet I'm blowing through records that I clearly should not be anywhere near. Example... I ran a 2:34 in a Scion tc and apparently a Porsche carrera GT does this track in real life in 2:28. Obviously I haven't reached such cars yet, i'm driving them in order of their performance index low to high.... but i don't see a Scion running within 6 seconds of one of the worlds fastest automobiles.

Is it just that in a game you lack "the fear" and drive the snot out of the cars to levels they can never attain in real life..... or is GT4 actually more realistic than Forza 3 in that an average driver like me won't meet the real world lap times of pros in the same cars....

makes me a little sad to think this sim is "over performing" it's real world counterparts. Especially since the driving feels so real.

I'm celebrating Earth day by doing an oil change and a tune up to the gf's push mower. I will later take said used oil to a near by pep boys for recycling. Also some oil my dad gave me to take back at New Year's eve. Of course in doing all of this I'm using the GTP which has had a hollowed out cat since '05 just a Cherry Bomb for exhaust noise and I suspect a broken flex pipe as my mileage is down

I think it does have something to do with the "lack of fear" thing. In the game, you dont have to worry about wrecking the car and paying for it or killing yourself. Also, I've noticed that the lower level cars are easier to control because they arent going as fast so you can throw it around a corner and still keep it from going off course or wrecking. I havent played GT4 though so I cant compare the two. I do know that they put alot of reasearch into Forza 3 and the vehicle specifications by testing things on both the dyno and on the track and got into extreme detail with it.

I saw the forecast for rain today but do not recall a mention of wind though. Sun was on/off as well. I am surprised there was no thunder.

the job I was so proud of on my formy taillights is now covered in dirt The way I have to drive to school in my truck is always wet and dirty. You can wash one day and the next it's worse than before.

Oh yea man, I saw that in the Firebird/WS6 section and didn't even comment, nice, nice job you did on that. Looks cleaner, I like that look. I'm surprised your old man let you even do that to his car, my father would rip my head off if I ever tried doing anything like that to his T/A back when he had it

I debadged my truck of every single one of the dealer emblem things this past weekend. It's a very easy process. It looks much cleaner without those stupid "Criswell Chevrolet" emblems all over the rear end.

It was warm and sunny at Carlisle today... until about 4:00 when the sky opened up and the winds hit. Rained on and off for about 45 minutes and resulted in most of the vendors closing up shop.

Found an all original '85 Monte Carlo SS with 53,000 on it for $8,500. Passed all my usual checks with flying colors. Hmmmmmmmm.
