junk mustang
my buddies got a 2004 mustang gt and he wants to get some power out of it hes thinking of cammin it but i told him he show supercharge it i dont know much about mustangs i havent done much work on them i procharged my othetr buddys car thats it but i do know that the 4.6 bottom end cant hold much more then 400 horse so what would you recomend him doing thanx joe

Black- 2002 Camaro SS SLP
I have a freind with a 01 GT.
He has a Vortech SC, and is getting the car fixed and adding a 100 shot or so of spray. He has a built rear.
Anyways.. the best thing your bud can do is spray.
I know many ppl that have Gt's and a little work here and there and a 100 shot, they are right beind me.

When people are determined to mod a 2 valve GT and want to go fast, the single most best mod is a supercharger and bolt ons. Any kind of engine work costs too much money for too lil return. Even then the 3 and 4 valve heads are just soo much better.

Agreed. A cam swap on the 2V should be pretty far down on the list of mods -- the swap is expensive and doesn't usually result in a huge gain. The money could be better spent on bolt ons & gears, or if he has the cash -- a supercharger. The modular motors respond very well to forced induction.
Plan "B" would be to slap a 100 shot of N2O on it and call it a day.

Tell him to sell it and get a 4v. It would be just as fast as a bolt on modded 2v stock. I'd never own another 2v.

As much as i hate to say it, the aftermarket for ford parts is so vast you can make decent power for a fairly cheap price compared to us F-body Guys.

if na, alternative performance has a nice performance package for the 4.6 which can compliment the nitrous or supercharger. but the cheap route nitrous.

yea and its filled with ricer shit. you gotta be lookin at shorty headers for a 5.0 or somethin. 160 bucks aint gonna get you some LT's. i'm glad LT/LS section is only a few pages, i dont wanna browse through a bunch of stupid stuff. . . .

Having previously had a built 2v na with a 200 shot of nitrous, supercharger is the way to go. He'll made 360ish rwhp with his stock motor and can turn up the boost when he can afford it. Going na is a joke for any 2v street car.
99 35th GT: 5.0 stroker, twin 60 turbos, aeromotive return style fuel system, full suspension.
575/563 @ 12lbs-adding more soon...
