Header tube length
Hey everybody,
I am in the process of planning a LS1 swap , but that is a little ways off, seeing as I am still deployed in Iraq. Anyhow, I would like to know how long the primaries are on full length headers for the LS1 to achieve proper scavaging. I might have to build my own headers so I want to get as close as I can to full length.
Thanks in advance
Phil

Man thats kind of a loaded question. Header primary length will chainge where your power comes in from the headers. This is why "proper" scavenging is a floating term. Header length for bolt on apps will vary in length up to a few inches. Most long tube headers are around 3' primaries. I hope this helps.
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, if it wasn't for fords our tools would rust

If you know your cam specs here is a good calc.
If for the street enter peak torque RPM if for race peak HP.
