    Harmonic balancer puller/installer

    Im workin on A 3.8 bonneville and need to pull the harmonic balancer off and there is some special size bolt and while looking for it ive noticed alot of pullers/installers do not work on ls based motors and I was woundering why

    Not sure I fully understand the question but, a 3.8-3800 are not ls based engines. They are Buick 350 & 340 and wildcat v6 based engines.. Why do you have to pull the balancer if I may ask..?

    its a 96 bonneville vin k so its series 2 231ci, I know its not ls based its a buick motor just woundering why alot of harmonic balancer puller/installers do not fit the ls based motor noticed it while looking for one to use on the bonneville. the bonneville seems to have A bad ckp sensor so i need to remove the harmonic balancer

    Oh i gotcha, my bad.. I don't have the answer for that one But I am familier with the 231..

    I dont know about the 3.8 but, the puller I needed to use for mine when I did my UD pulley on my Z, I used this http://www.autotoolworld.com/OTC-Too...r_p_73576.html

    Except a tech I work with had one he let me borrow...

    Oh ok that one has the three claws the other ones had the "y" shaped puller/installer thats the diffrence so thanks for your info
