ugh need motivation

ive been workin on my 58 for a while but ive been gone for a year with the navy, now its just starin at me beggin to be finished but i cant find the motivation

Hey man.. I KNOW that feeling! My 87 has been on stands for over a year...

Was going to have someone help once in a while.. but that fell through... Just pretty much need someone to talk to.. and make me want to go out there...

Lol.. gotcha. Well.. its HAS to be on its wheels in 2 weeks to be able to put on the trailor when I move.. or I dont know what I'm gonna do... so we'll just have to see... and its hard to give you a ride not knowing where you are anyway... j/k

Haven't had one of those actually.. But The car has made a lot of progress in the last couple of months.. I'm real happy about that.

Know what ya mean. I haven't been motivated to work on the Nomad for the last 15 years. Then my son reached an age where he is really diggin' cars. He kept asking me when we were going to get that Nomad running. After all I did build an engine for it and it's been sitting covered up in the corner,,,,LOL.

I pushed it outside and my son and I washed 15 years of dust and grime off of it and thats all it took. The cool memories came rushing back and we dove into the car the very next day.

I am now going over the new/old engine and getting it ready for the transplant. Looks like it's long sleep only ruined the valve springs. Replaced those and reset the lash. Pulling old motor out of car as we speak, then it will be on to the brakes, (wheel cylinders, master cylinder etc...) Goal is to have it back running and dialed in for the Pumpkin Run in October.
Can't wait to wing the piss out of it and hang some gears

Is this a '58 Apache we're talking about? My mom's got one we're in the middle of right now...err, kinda in the middle of....lol. Anyways, it's been taken apart and started on. I've got a few pics on my fquick. Here's the link: http://www.fquick.com/garages/Chevro...he/1958/18116/
Got alittle more done to it than in the pictures, just didn't figure it was worth takin pics over. Don't laugh too hard at the pics now...lol.

this thread motivates me to get back on my old project. won't behome till jan/feb so all i can do is plan it out. and my Z is still stock so i've been ebaying mods lately and just planning out the impala project. there was a thread a lil while ago about a LS1 lumina a guy tore into. he did some awesome work and really inspired me to jump into the engine bay. can't remember the name of it but if you are looking for motivation, try reading a few pages of that thread.

no i got a stepside only the fleetside carried the badge apache and i have the small window, the apache has the wrap around rear window

Huh, this one says Apache 31 and its a stepside. It had the spot for the spare on the drivers side, but we bought a flare w/o it to clean it up some. But the back glass is a wrap around.

hmmm, not sure all i know is chevy made the the truck with and with out the apache badge in 58 and 59
