    1966 Corvette Coupe

    Meet Chloe II

Some of you might remember Chloe. She was a 2000 Corvette FRC. Loved the car in the purest form, but it just got where the car payment wasn't worth the fact that sooooo many C5s and C6s were running around town.

I got into bikes after this which helped out my adrenaline desires, but there still is nothing like having a car so I started to look into what I wanted to get as a replacement. I thought about Supras, Vipers, GT500s, Saleens, Challengers, NSXs, Trans Ams, and the list goes on.

Well none of those really were just what I was looking for. They are all really nice cars and I really considered them all, but i just couldn't bring myself to spend the cash for one... SO here is what I decided on...

Its a 1966. Originally a 327 (it now has a GM performance 350 crate motor) w/ 4 speed. Its its good driver shape and really just needs a little TLC b4 its a nice weekend cruiser. I plan on doing brakes, exhaust, mild cam, suspension, and wheels and tires by the spring. I then plan on starting on a custom chasis with an LS motor, C6 suspension, and a trans axle somet time next year and hope to have it completed in 2 or 3 years... I have a long road ahead of me, but i planned so that i could atleast enjoy the car until i get it to tip top shape.

More pics are to come, but honestly after driving to St. Louis to get it im exhausted and dont really have the energy to make a really great post out of this...

    Hope you guys like it...

Already spent like $100 on a new battery, a gas pedal, and the driver seat is stuck and i havent been able to break the seat slide loose yet... AHHHHH gotta love a classic...

I still havent even gotten a chance to really dig in and see just how deep of a pit this is really gonna be... Definitely gonna be a chore and a learning experience.

I would say that you found a good replacement... for everything on your list. Very nice car -- throw up some more pics when you get a chance.

-Power antennae gears seem to be stripped
    -Rear end is leaking
-Oil leak around oil pressure sending unit
    -Convert to power brakes
    -Oil change
    -Gear fluid change

    -Plate light doesnt work
-Driver side seat belt wont adjust

Looks like one we used to have.

Appears to be a low horse (probably 300 hp 327) judging by the 5500 redline on the tach. Aftermarket shifter (or just the stick)

Your forsale add pic has the goldline tires, which look sweet on that color combo, but they are gone in the pics when you brought it home.

You could always sell it to me before you stick all that modern stuff in it

Hate gold line tires... has the hurst short throw kit on it... and was originally a 300 hp 327... currently has a GM crate 350 in it... Still only a 300 hp motor...

You could always make and offer if you want it...

BTW got a new gas pedal installed...

Stepped on the throttle a bit when i took a friend out and realized I need motor and tranny mounts when the driveline twisted so much the shifter nearly came out of my hand and the hood bulged when the air cleaner hit it...

Polyurethane replacements are shipping from summit tomorrow...

You'd have to put the goldlines back on before I'd be interested

You can keep the crate motor too,,,,I have a correct and complete 66 (HE coded) 327/300 HP with the muncie 4 speed still attached from a totaled 66 vette back in day with only 30,000 miles on it.
It's date coded Feb 66. May or may not be before your build date but it's probably as close as it'll get for a hard to find motor like that.

My father has been working on blending a 1964 to a 1990 c4. It has been 4 years now and it is a major pain in the ass. wheel base is shorter on a c4 so we had to shorten up the front end of the 64 a bit and attaching the 64 to a 90 another major PIA. Alot of custom frame work. We ended up just putting a cage in it to make sure it wouldn't flex. It's a 64 coupe and next is paint and building a small block for it. Gona be one bad ass ride but a major undertaking. Almost easier to get a tub from any 63 to 82 and blend it that way and then by the rear clip you want and the front end you want and glass it that way. Have it around for mock up and then glass it together later.

there are half a dozen frame companies that will build a custom frame to the engine/tranny/suspension specs you want...

It just takes a small loan...
