78 Nova battery
So, I finally had a few days off to look at my Nova and figure out why after 3 days of use it won't start again. First instinct (since I already have new battery cables) was either battery or alternator. So after taking these off and running down to local Autozone for a free test, they tell me battery seems OK, but drained and the alt checks out perfect. So they ask me if I want to charge my battery there, I figure what the hell go ahead. So I go home and start looking around the Nova for possible power drains and can't find anything out of the ordinary. About hour and a half later I return (they said about 1 hour for it to charge) and they retest the battery for me. Turns out the battery wasn't good after all, had at least 1 dead cell. This is now the 3rd battery I've put in the Nova (all 3 were the wonderful Wal-Mart Everstart ) Luckily, the last 2 were replaced under warranty. I'm going down today to replace it again, and I figured I may as well ask if anyone has suggestions for a *good* replacement battery brand for my next one.

I've had very good luck with Interstate. If you don't mind the day glow green
I've had the same problems with the cheap batteries I use in my Probe. I've been playing the warranty game on that one for years. I don't drive that car very much though.

For all our GM vehicles I will only buy AC Delco batteries. I have an Interstate in our Trans Am (came with the car) and although it does work well it seriously looks like ass under the hood.

Yeah, so I went down to Wally World and got the warranty replacement, seems they got yet another new design so maybe this one will work for over 1 year... Anyhow looks like a dayglo green Interstate or an AC Delco if it fails after the warranty then, thanks guys. Might end up having to replace the one in the z28 before too long
