WHP limit ??
383 Ls1, callies compstar 4.00 crank, compstar H beam rods, arp 2000 rodbolts, wiseco forged pistons, arp headstuds & mainstuds. Ls9 head gaskets, clevite main and rod bearings, Boosted & wont be reving past 6800 rpms.
Whats going to let go first, and at what WHP ? Or whats the max whp that this setup can handle SAFELY?Last edited by 2NDSLPSS; 01-12-2012 at 12:28 AM.

I have a very similar setup that yielded 440rwhp/420rwtq and can spin it to 7000 rpms and hold it there unboosted though.

Naturally Aspirated...you won't touch the limit of the internals.
I have the exact same brand internals in my 427 LS3, and the rods are the lowest rated part at about 900hp. If you go forced induction, I would be worried about the block long before the internals.

If there's a 10-bolt rear under it that may go first..
Stock 3800's can break them..

I have the same bottom end in my motor, put down 430whp and 428 wtq with stock heads. My rear let go in September. I now have a strange s60 under the car.

As far as the enging goes I would say the bearings will let go first but that is with the spray. Other wise it is a strong combo. The other parts of the drivetrain will suffer first. 10 bolt reat, U-Joints and tranny components. I will say 430 rwhp is in the range without spray.

Everything in the driveline will be replaced. Im going to go with a built 4l80e, better driveshaft& yokes, a 12 bolt, also better heads, dual walbros,60# injectors, FAST, CNC'd and heads .so im mostly worried about the bottomn end. I will be running a D1sc and want to put down 650 on the pumpgas street tune
will I be stressing the the rods at all ? My invoice from tsp said they are 900 hp rods. Are they talking about at the flywheel ??? If so the 700+whp race gas tune I had in mind may be out the window w these rods. . .

I have an ls1 engine out of my 00' SS. I ordered said rotating assembly because rep at tsp told me he would have no problem pushing this bottom end to 1000 whp but then it comes in with an invoice that says rods. . . 900hp I started researching. ( wrong order, I know !)
