    What's the best LS1 lifters ???

    I'm running the comp cams pro magniums, and I'm getting lifter noises...
    Anyone hear if the new LS7 high rev lifters out perform comp cam lifters ?
    Or, any recomendations for big cam & high RPMs ???

    Cadi lifters ? Are they the LS7 lifters ? If so, the price is right. I'm seeing them for around 130.00 a set.
    I'm willing to spend the money for the best, since I want to only put them in once !!!

    NO LS7 are NOT caddi lifters...

    SDPC.com has ls7 lifters for about 115 to your door...

    ill get you specifics on the caddi lifters... (which i personally think is the best way to go esp if the car will get alot of miles)

    Over 75% of lifters are made by the same manufacture! The companys only change bleeder orfices and plunger spring rates. We use Comps and Lunatis with no issues.
    How much plunger pre load are you running???
    And what kind of spring pressure @ the seat???
    Your buzzing it to???
    What oil do you run???

    Non adjustable 1.8 rockers... Probably around .060 plunger preload
    Comcam Beehives... I think around 135 lbs
    Buzzing ? 150 dry shot
    GTX 10-40

    At the track, I never hear tapping. Only on the street @ 3000rpm she starts tapping, put her in nuetral, a couple of small revs, the tapping slowly goes away...
    If I lug the motor below 2500rpm, ( the cam doesn't like that ) the lifters seem to stay up with no tapping...

    I also added the Lucas oil stabilizer too....
    I'm in the process of a motor build, and want the right combo. Instead of a stroker, I'm going 14-1 Dome JE pistons with a stock stroke. Looking at some real high rpms' !!!

    Lucas, made no difference anyways...
    Called Comp Cams last night to bitch a little !!!
    They say their lifters are fine, ( 850-16 ) and they had a few callers about the 3000 rpm tapping. They're blaming it on oil foam up & lifters running dry ???
    I think that's a bunch of crappolla !!!

    I did some Caddi research. Uhmm... Not bad, they say they turn 8500 rpms' and hold up !!!
    I was even considering mechanical lifters, but that would be a pain to keep them adjusted in a TA...

    Adjusting them alot is BS!!! Get a good set of poly locks and stud girdle which you want for the rpms your talking about and adj. them and they'll be good for a season. I have a street car with a solid lift cam daily driven with .600" cam 4500 con. 4.10's and they afre fine for 6-9 monthes and I buzz that 8300 rpm on a regular basis. RPM is what I was referring to when I asked you what your "buzzing" it too.
    Not to mention there is MULTIPLE benefits to a solid besides the rpm. You can actually tune your power with adj. your lash.....

    I would highly recommend to stay away from a HYD. lifter and 7800 rpm plus!!
    Do you realize the stuff that will break when that lifter comes apart at 8400rpm......? If you do try that route you NEED TO take a dial indicator and measure your plunger preload or they will NEVER last or work for that matter at 8000+rpm.

    I will try to keep the buzzing down a little !!! LOL I do have my rev limit up to 7800, but didn't really want to hit it... I had some programming issues on the shifting, that is under control now. Comp cams even said there's nothing wrong with running solid lifters on a hydrolic cam !!! That sounds like a good route to take !!! As far as the term BUZZING,,, I did alot of that in my younger days !!!

    Yes you can run the lifters/cam like that but your not taking anywhere near the whole advantage. The advantage of having a solid cam is the ramps can be WAY more aggressive!! With a solid roller grind it is alot different lobes than a hyd roller. For one we no anyone has to run twice as much spring pressure. So by that added pressure they can make the grind alot more aggressive on the lobe profile without worring about "lifter bounce".
    So if you plan on running solid lifters do yourself a favor and get the added 15-20hp by having the right lobe design.
