    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

What to do with old long block?

    Sup guys!?
Many of you know that I killed my original Ls1 by frying the oil pump. While it was at the shop, my builder said "just replace it with another Ls1 for the fastest turn around. So i did...and now i'm sitting on a long block with internals and everything.

The skinny is, he never took the motor apart, he just saw that there was tons of black/gritty shit all over the oil pan and figured the block was no better than a paper weight.

Keep in mind, when the oil pump failed, the engine went through about another minute or 2 worth of revolutions while i tried to get the car into a safe area for picking up. I recall lots of metal on metal sounds from cylinder 3.

So i ask you, ls1 brethren, is it worth a winter project or two to rebuild the motor with updated valvetrain etc? Or should i consider it scraped?

Yeah, I saw that on tech.

I would put the crank or the other 4 pistons on the bottom to make it higher and use it as a poker table.

Halogen lamp base? Use the case for the bottom and a drive shaft for the post maybe? Weld up the Universal area so it wont move and then maybe figure something out for the top for the light fixture. I think the poker table and a couple trany lamps in a home bar would be pretty cool IMO.

    Buy a 30,000 dollar boat. Have a 100 dollar LS1 anchor.
