what can i do in cali?

i have posted in other threads and all ways get shout down so what kind of mods can i do to my 01 ta like cam and heads intake stuff like that and still get by on the smog?

I have the same dilemma, When I get my cam Im going to get the TR224 115lsa. I was told the TR224 is the biggest cam that will pass smog. Also when looking for a cam you need a 114lsa or above. You already have the ls6 intake, I would just stick to that one.

I heard you can pass with a 224 and good tune. On top of that get some true duals and a nice set of shorties..but yes emmissions sucks over here. My smog is due in december, im going to finish up my suspension till then and then i can start adding long tubes and maybe a healthy 228.

looks like after the smog the LT are a go and if I get all three jobs I plan on getting this summer the cam will be purchased. Gosh I hate being in college I have no money to put in the maro.

Best thing to solve smog problems is to have a cat back in addition to cats, also I have used methanol (mixed with gas) in my car to pass smog, it worked wonders on my cars. Or- you find a mechanic shop that knows where an "honest" smog station is, it cost more but it will make your v-8 look like a i-4 if you know what I mean.

Anyway, to the OP, get a lid, some cat-back, maybe some new heads and cam, just don't change the exhaust to LT headers and/or ORY! The CA po-po will smash you. Don't waste your money on shorty headers.

In California, the penalty for illegal smog operation is so severe that most shops will not take a chance.
