    what cam

    whats the biggest, best sounding cam u can run with stock valve springs? im just tryin to make the ls1 in my car have a good sounding idle while i build my 408 stroker. my car now is a 99 ws6 with slp lid, longtubes, off road y, magnaflow catback, and its an a4. i just want a good sounding idle until i can get everything together for the 6.0 stroker. thanks for any help

    Going at it all wrong. Buy an exhuast and a cutout if you want sound. Getting a cam for sound is almost guranteeing youll be dissapointed.

    if you put a bigger cam & don't replace the factory springs you'll be needing that 408 alot
    sooner than ya think!!!

    Stock springs only have around 70 lbs. seat pressure. Maybe less if the engine has alot of miles. They are weak even for the stock camshaft.
    If you don't want to change springs, and the engine is still running, it would be best to leave it alone.
