    voltage

    my gauge inside my car always reads borderline on the yellow or just above it if i turn my a/c on it just goes down a little into the yellow do i need a new alternator or battery

    i got the battery and alternator checked today and its all normal anyone know what it could be?

    main thing is that it stays out of the red, do you know what your voltage is with the engine running and with it off?

    Get a real test going. Buy ya self a volt meter, test what your alternator is putting out, see it with your eyes not with autozone eyes.

    i did the test and the alt. is pushing 60-63 amps now my question is i think we have 100 amp alternantors in our cars right so shouldnt it be pushing close to that or should i just upgrade to a 140 amp alt.

    oh and thats 60-63 amps at around 2000 rpm
