    Valve train noise?

    I just built my 402 stroker. I put a fast 90mm intake and tb. the cam is .598 lift with ported and polished heads. Stock rockers and lifters. We fired it up for the first time saturday, and there is a lot of valvetrain noise. It was louder at first but then in quieted down a bit. Does anyone know if this is normal? Im thinking that because of the lift that there will be considerably more pushrod to rocker "ticking"


    Like i said, it does not sound fatal, just different. Thanks.
    00 ss camaro, 6.0 liter iron block, 4" callies crank, 4" Mahle pistons, Howards rods, Comp cam .598/.598, ported polished heads, Fast 90mm intake and tb flp headers and y pipe, lingenfelter muffler and tips, Maf, injectors, frame connectors.

    I believe some noise is common as you said do to lift.

    minimal noise is normal as stated...
    did you double check pushrod length too? (it would only enhance the sewing machine effect, not detrimental but just wondering)
