I believe it was .550"...don't quote me though.
I would go with Comp 918's for a mild cam or a nice dual spring with an aggressive cam.

Mr. Lous,
what name brand would you suggest on the dual springs for the LS6 heads with an aggressive cam? I want to replace the lifters while the heads are off as well. I currently have the hardend push rods from comp cams to install. your thoughts suggestions?

I think your about right I was thinking .560 but then again there is a lot of variables. It will all depend on retainers and locks as to what the finale installed heighth is.
I would agree with the Comps will be a much better spring and will go right in with out cutting the spring pocket.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

If you dont pay attention to the colors,(they both look similar in color believe it or not!!)you could take home the wrong ones!!

Mr Lous,
I got the Blue set of springs from comp, the cam specs are 228/231-571/573@112 LSA. Well under the 600 mark. I should need to upgrade the lifters with this cam should I?

I would if you have over 100,000 miles on the motor! Obviously for safety! Worn down/tired plungers will snap retainer and explode at high RPM. However, I have seen 4th. gens. run fair camshafts w/heavy lifts with stock lifters with roughly 125,000 miles on the clock!! I think your safe though with the stock lifters. Just depends on condition and wear of your ls1. If its a ticker in stock form, I would change them out, if not, save yourself alot of time and effort and just stab that new cam in there!!
