    using oil

    Hey guys, currently have a 00 z28 a4 with an ms3 cam 3200 stall and bolt ons. Just learned shes using about a quart or maybe even a little more between changes. should i be very concered?

    Can you tell if it's burning it, leaking out, or entering the exhaust unburned?

    Could be a few things, valve seals, piston rings, ect. With losing about a quart in 3000 miles - assuming that is your oil change schedule - it's not horrible. But it definately indicates a problem. What brand oil are you using? I have occasionally run into certain brand oils that have this problem and a simple change in brands aleviate the problem.

    Pull the intake ducting and MAF. Look into the throttle body and see if it is all oiled up in there. Could be the PCV system sucking oil into the intake. Small enough amount that it does not noticeably smoke, but enough to drop the oil level over time.

    What's the cost on converting that over and using a catch can? Any idea?

    running valvoline and tomarrow i will look at the throttle body, hope its not to big of deal need that motor to make it 1 more year before the 383!!

    i have some in my FAST i can tell but the TB says clean...i still need to setup a catch can on my 408 tho...its on the list lol

    really depends on witch catch can you go with...iv seen $100-400

    im going with a mike norris catch can myself
