    Trak or TSP 233/239?

Looking for my new cam and need some advise. I will be running stock heads, My car has 37,000 miles, I have a 6 speed, 9" with 4.30 gears, Lt's, ory, lid. Emissions is not an issue. My car is used primarily for going to the track and car cruises, It is Not a daily driver and sees about 4,000 miles a year. I have narrowed the field down to these 2 cams which one would you recomend and why?

if you run the first cam, you will be replacing springs every 10k-15k...

i know you said its more of a track car than a road car, but a .640 is cutting it close. also, you might have to flycut to get the clearance to run it.

personally i would go with the 233/239. i have a 231/237 i plan to put in my SS, and this is just slightly larger both by TSP. might have to flycut w/this as well since you have stock heads. here is a good thread about the 233/239 cam...

If this is gonna be a track car and an occasional cruise machine why not go a little more aggressive of a cam? I do the same thing you plan on doing , I only put on roughly 3-5,000miles a year and I'm runnning LG's G5x4 cam. Unless those are the 2 deffinate choices you want to go with. Just a suggestion.

I want a good loping Idle. More than likely I will be running a strip car with an occasional cruise added in. Plan on roughly a 3000 miles a year car. Had severel pm's on a custom grind. I am looking at many options, but I am leaning towards an aggressive cam that is still kinda streetable with stock heads and pistons.I have many good options on a custom grind that I am looking at.

a custom grind is deffinately one way to go, at least that way you know no one else will have the same cam as you. I wish I would have went that way at times.

Haha, beat me to it. I've always been a fan of the TSP 231/239 cam but the fastest cam only guy I know uses the G5X4. He traps like 119 I think.

he must have pulled a pretty good 60', because I only managed a 1.7 60' and went 11.65 at 121.

It's made by LG Motorsports. It's a pretty aggressive cam. I'd say say it's pretty close to Thunder Racings T-rex cam. I don't think it has quite as much duration on the exhaust side. If you go on their website it's not listed, I just asked them for it. The biggest cam they have listed is the G5X3 cam. They're kinda secretive on that cam and the x4. I don't see what the big deal is but it is too them.
