Is this too agressive of a cam for a stock engine? I am getting a good deal on it and thats the only reason I am considering it. What do yall think? BTW, car has basic bolt ons, A4 with soon to be installed 3.42's and converter later next year.
    Thanks
    MH

Also will install headers before installing cam...would this cam be too agressive for the stock tune (maybe for a month?)

I dont think its too "aggressive" at all. You will need a stall though - as it will feel soggy under 2500rpm.

mine is real soft under 2,500, and it WILL fight you when your at a complete stop, and i would at least do a base tune on it cuase it will not go well with out a tune, it will die continously and the computer will not know what to do..

my cam is in the sig.

Yup you will definatly need a tune... A4's because the computer is slightly different then the M6 will require a tune even for a 224/224... Since your cam is a "mild" cam i would get a stall... new springs, retainers and push rods and throw in some gears 3.42s are good... 3.73s might work alittle better with that cam but gas mileage will decrease by about 1-2MPG..

    Hope that helps...Good Luck

Thanks again for the info...Yes, im going with 3.42's. Getting a deal on an SLP posi unit and the 3.42's. As for the stall, do you think i should get the stall before i put the cam in?

make damn sure you know the specs on that cam, coming from another persons car, ask the old owner for a cam card......if not when you go to tune it, it may get tuned to the wrong specs if you are just going off of what you were told the cam specs were. get as much info on that cam as you can, ask where they bought it, call the company and they can tell you if that is one of their grinds or not, then they to can email you the cam card.

Fortunately, I have the cam card, grind numbers and all. Its still in the original box, has like 3000 miles on it. Thanks again for the help!

You might make life a little easier having the converter in the car before you do the cam. Should be a little easier to live with until you can get it tuned. And I would definitely get the converter before you get gears. Do you have 2.73's now or 3.23's?

Im getting the gears first...limited time offer. Next up will be the stall, then the cam and tune. Gotta do something about the 2.73's.
