stock heads, porting and milling?
Thinking about going ahead and putting a cam in my car.
Texas Speed 228r - 228/228 .588/.588 on a 112lsa
My question, how much can the stock heads be ported? And with that cam, just how much could i have the stock heads milled, without worrying about flycutting.
Thanks!'99 Z/28 -- TSP 1 7/8 LT's, TSP ORY, Hooker Cat-Back, TunedByFrost

you can really open up the stock heads so they will flow a lot better, I took a big pile of material out of mine....very noticeable difference.
if you are doing them yourself there are a few spots you have to becareful of breaking into thr water jackets.
with that cam you should beable to mill a good bit off the hrads before you have any clearance problems

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
if possible go for the 243 heads (ls6) then go and port and mill..but if not..then the ls1 castings can be had to flow well
