Silver- 2003 GTI 1.8T :(
Starting over New
ok...as many of you may know... my car is gone on monday, and i will have a good amount of cash in hand
Im buying a cheap z28, and am planning on dumping around 3 grand into it right off the bat... the first 1000-1200, will be qtp lt's and some sort of 3" td's dumped before the axle
I already have a cam I want to use, but thats all i have for the valvetrain...
its a 231/237 tsp cam... lift is .592/.598 and 112+2 lsa...
now the company doing the install has the springs (duals) picked out, and the retainers, all those goodys, i will be keeping stock pushrods, or replacing them with new stock pushrods
i need help picking out a better set of underdrive pulleys, water pump, or is it oil pump? idk w/e you are supposed to replace with it all... and then i just need a basic ls2 timing chain kit? or is their better?
Later on in this cars life it will receive a 9", and then a fast 90/90 ported, and a set of trickflows... but until then i need help setting up this cam install....

sold... to a friend... so i can start over new, and not have any car payments... meaning i will already have abit of cash todrop on it, get a beater car, and then i will be making close to 600 a month that can go straigt into mods.... but during summer i should be doing mods faster...

me neither... ok i found the timing chain kit on sdpc, for 37....
now... anyone know... is it the oil pump or water pump you replace.... i can't remember for the life of me but my instinct tells me oil pump... like... ls6 ported oil pump? and what kind of pulleys...

yep, ported ls6 oil pump. IMO it's a bad decision to keep stock push rods. I would go with a hardened set. I personally run a powerbond under drive pulley and I would just get an ls2 chain for around $40.

alright... can i ask why you say that abotu the push rods? fromwhat i understand is it is a small powerloss and acts as a "fuse" that will just bend rather than snap and could save your engine... but if you make a good argument which would you recomend... ultimate goal... is to build a monster of a h/c car... running slicks on a 9"
