Spark Plugs And Cables...need Some Recommendations!!!
Well i've had Z for about 3 months now and I don't know when it had a tune up so i'm planning on doing myself this week...What type of spark plugs, cables and O2 sensors do you guys recommend? any specific brands or shops I should buy or buy from? How about motor oil?? Mobil 1 synthetic or Valvoline?? I'm new to the LS1 engine and would like to get it performing at its best. Thanks

8 plugs should be $20.
Wires are $50-60.
O2's will get expensive. Are you sure you need them?? I think they are $80+ each, and you will need two.
Oil is always on sale. Check your local sunday paper ads and stores. I paid $20 for 5 quarts from Wal-Fart.
Oil filter I use Delco's. $5.

the NGK spark plugs (TR55-IX) are on sale at a kragens out here in LA so i'll be getting those today. Im not sure if I need the O2's..I just figured I'd replace them since i'm doing the rest...I believe the stock O2's are still on...I'm about to hit 99K, what do you think??

If they haven't thrown a code...I am sure they are okay.
But at that mileage, I would consider them as a maintenance item somewhat soon.

My owners manual says 5w-30 is best for the car, but if its 0 deg and above that you can run 10w-30. I am currently running mobile 1 syn. You can pick it up at wally world for like $20 for 5qts. As far as filter I usually run a wix.

Mobil 1's 5w-30 is thinner than most.

My setup:
Mobile1 10w30 with ACDelco filter
NGK TR55 plugs
MSD Super Conductor Wires. Buy them online they are 40-50 cheaper then any i found in any autoparts store! Make sure your getting MSD boots as well. There are people on ebay that use cheap boots with MSD wires and make "LS1 Kits". Im pretty sure i got mine from ThunderRacing.com

I have ran royal purple 10w-30 from the first oil change to now.. Only like 3 oil changes but I love it! When I take it out (every 3,000) it hardly looks dirty almost like I just put it in, its worth the money IMO.. Then again I am an O'Reilly employee and I get a sweet discount
