Spark plug change?

Just wondering if I should change my spark plugs/wires.....I have an 01 SS with 49,000 miles. Only gets out a few times a year. I know these are 100k mile plugs, but it was mentioned to me that the car is 17 yrs old and I should consider changing them.
What are the thoughts on this? Should I get them changed?

Pull a couple and see how they look is what I would do.

Agree. Just pull a couple and check them. Sometimes with low mileage garaged cars you will see oil residue on the threads. Also the porcelain may get brittle over the years so be careful when pulling the plugs.

Thanks for the response guys. I'll pull a couple and see what they look like. If i proceed with new plugs/wires......any recommendations? I keep seeing NGK plugs a lot on these forums. Never remembered having good luck with NGK's in the past though. I also see comments about just sticking with AC Delco's.
And ebay carries a ton of wires for the LS1's. I'm not familiar with some of the vendors however. Most of them are tagged as performance wires, but are fairly cheap compared to others.

If you're stock TR5 Iridium plugs are pretty good. If you have mild bolt ons then the TR55's (Copper core).

I only use MSD wires. I get the truck set (5.3) for the extra 2" of length.

If you have mild bolts on then NGK tr55. If you're stock just good old AC Delco factory plugs. You don't have to worry much about gap or heat range unless you have a radical H/C or FI. Just stick with an AC Delco or NGK plug in the stock heat range.
